The exhibition took place on the evening of 21st January 2005 in the vaults at the Royal Society of Arts in support of the artists studio charity Acme’s campaign to save Acme Propeller Factory.
Artist Nick Malone explores themes of identity, transformation and change through his multilayered paintings, underpinned by the narrative mystery of his artist’s book: The Disappearance of Makepeace - a Tale of Two Lives. His work reflects his own adventure in becoming an artist - here large watercolour works on paper and smaller acrylic canvases incorporating cut-out silhouettes invite the viewer to journey through alternative realities.
Nick has had a studio at Acme Propeller Factory for 25 years. He is eternally grateful to Acme for providing the physical and practical foundation for his career as an artist.

A soundscape accompanies the exhibition - an extract from a mystery thriller tracing the relationship of Eustace and Makepeace, from their childhood meeting to their final encounter. It is a story of disappearance, mystery and murder through Eustace’s adventure in becoming an artist.
